Revival Conference: September 29—October 2 the AFLC Schools revival conference included morning and evening sessions and classes, with special guest speakers Pastor Michael Brandt, Pastor Elden Nelson and Pastor James Rasmussen. The main theme was dying to self. Many hearts were challenged to give their all to Christ and live for him anew.
Following are some comments from students regarding the Revival Conference:
- This conference was really a blessing to me and I am very thankful for this time of year and for the concern the school has for the need to be revived.
- “Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway! Fill with they Spirit till all shall see Christ only always living in me!” The commitment and sincerity of that statement is something that I want to ring true in my life through my actions and speech.
- Convicted, I prayed that night that God would take away my spirit of selfishness and its manifestation, a spirit of anger. Since then my angry spirit is almost entirely quenched and I find myself focused more on God and others rather than myself.
God has brought me down to my knees in prayer through the week. I’m very thankful for that.
- This conference has really brought attention to me that I need to let Christ take control of my life. Give Him the stress, the worry, the concern, the joy, the fear, the excitement, everything that controls my life.
- God impressed on my heart the truth that no matter how inadequate I feel, no matter how much I mess up in my Christian walk, and even when I think that God is working in everyone else and passing over me, God is faithful and powerful and fully adequate to use me and to perfect me.
- …when I call out to God in weakness and humility, asking for His strength, He enables me to die to myself so that He can bring about the greatest glory to His name.
