Being a student at AFLBS presents many unique and satisfying job opportunities. The school week is established in such a manner as to easily allow the students to find part time jobs. It is very unproblematic for a student at Bible School to have a flexible job with 15-25 hours per week without getting behind on Bible School homework or missing any fun fellowship activities with fellow students. Not only does the Bible School encourage part time jobs because they help students pay for their tuition, but also because having a job gives the student an opportunity to be applying what God is teaching them in the mission field.
There are many different possibilities for a student to explore when looking for a job to have during their time at Bible School. Large companies such as Office Depot Warehouse in the metro area hire many Bible School students. Also, several students, such as myself, get plugged into families as a nanny (or in the male case “manny”). The great news is that God is completely sovereign, and that He will lead you to the job He desires for you to have. Also, He has been, currently is, and will be using Bible School students in their jobs to be a witness and shine the light of Jesus Christ. There is no better job description than that!
