Athletics

The goal of the AFLBS Athletics Department is different than what a person might find in any other post-secondary athletic program. At AFLBS, we are truly about honoring God and serving Him. That is our main goal, and we see that as far more important than the number of wins and losses we may have. We also encourage our athletes to enjoy themselves and have fun. We believe that it is a joy to glorify God both on and off the court or playing field.

AFLBS basketball competes in the NIAC Conference, a group of Christian and Technical Colleges in the region. We are also a member of the ACCA, a national Christian college organization, and we compete at the national tournament every year, held in Joplin, Missouri.

In addition to basketball, AFLBS also offers intramural softball in the fall and spring. Students also organize an indoor soccer team that competes in a city league during the winter months.

AFLBS friends and family mourn the loss of beloved teacher, mentor, seminary dean, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, Dr. Francis Monseth, who died on Good Friday, March 29, of a heart attack. Together we lift up in prayer the Monseth Family.

AFLBS Dean, Pastor Joel Rolf, says, "This is a difficult time for all of us. We will all miss our beloved friend and Dean Dr. Monseth. He has taught and mentored us these past 42 years in his ministry at the Bible school and Seminary."

The funeral was held at the AFLC Campus Chapel on Saturday April 6th.
