Dear Friends of AFLBS,
The snow arrived just in time for Christmas Concerts and Parent's Weekend! As the storm moved in last weekend, my eyes were caught by the brightness and cleanliness of a fresh layer of snow on the ground. "Have I ever seen anything this white?" I thought to myself. The thought instantly took me to what God says in Isaiah 2:18, "Come now, let us reason together,' says the Lord, 'Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow." That's how God sees our sins - as white as snow. He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west and He remembers them no more, the Scripture says. That's what we are celebrating this weekend here at AFLBS. Jesus came to make our sins as white as snow. By faith, we're forgiven and clean. We have a reason to celebrate!
We value your support and prayers for the ministry at AFLBS! Find prayer requests and information about this weekend's events below.
In Christ,
Chad Friestad,
AFLBS Student Development Director

AFLBS Christmas Concerts this Weekend
AFLBS invites you to share in the Christmas celebration this weekend. As choirs sing, students shares, and both family and friends reunite with their students, these next few days will be a whirl of activity and joy--and maybe a few classic Christmas desserts.
If you haven't yet planned on coming to our campus for the events of the weekend, we encourage you to take the time to visit us. You won't regret it! Whether you join us for the Gospel Team Concert on Friday night (8:00 p.m.), the Christmas Concerts on Saturday Evening (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday Afternoon (4:00 p.m.) in our campus chapel, or the basketball games on Saturday afternoon (2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.) at Heritage Christian Academy, we'd love to see you. We also offer a Christmas Food Sampler on Saturday before the concert (2-4:00 p.m.) and a light dinner after the concert on Sunday evening. Please consider coming to any of these events.
In keeping with the tradition of years past at AFLBS, the Choirs and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble prepare a beautiful array of music and worship in their concerts. Both the guests that come and the students that participate each year enjoy these sweet times of rejoicing and remembering the birth of the Saviour. We hope to see you there!

AFLBS Seeks Partners for Intercessor Team
Will you pray with us?
We are seeking individuals and families who would share in this heart of prayer and commit to praying for AFLBS on a daily basis for the ongoing ministry of our schools and the upcoming building project. Would you consider partnering with us in prayer? There is no greater work to do, nor is there a work in which more people can be involved. This work is available to all, and one for which all are needed. We are completely dependent upon a sovereign God, but a God who hears and answers the prayers of His people. Given the shortness of time and the length of eternity, can we county on you to pray for us and with us? Read more...

Join with Us in Prayer and Praise for God's Work:
- Praise God for the word that Jeremy Erickson's white blood cell count went up this week. Thank the Lord for His faithfulness through every pain and victory that the Erickson's have experienced so far. Continue to pray for them as they seek God's healing, strength, and faith. And as they trust Him.
- Praise God for the growing heart for prayer in the AFLBS Student Body. The Student Mission Fellowship, a student-led prayer group that meets each Tuesday during the lunch hour, is seeing more and more students with a heart to lift up the needs of their brothers and sisters around the world. In the past few weeks SMF has grown from about six or seven students to approximately fifteen! God is so good.
- Praise God for a great semester if growth and study in the Word of God at AFLBS/AFLTS.
- Pray for Hans Tanner and Micah Berger as they serve and minister with the Nate Jore family in Jinja, Uganda. Pray that God would open doors for Hans and Micah to bring the Word of God to the people of Uganda and to build relationships with them. For their ministry to impact lives, they need God's strength, power, grace, and endurance. Ask that He'd move through them.
- Remember to pray for the instructors at AFLBS and AFLTS as they prepare final exams for their students. Pray that God would strengthen and encourage them as they finish this semester of teaching.
- Pray for the Bible School and Seminary students who will be studying this weekend and next week for their Final Exams. This can be a strenuous time for many students--ask that the Lord would give them focus and perseverance, peace and rest when it's their tendancy to grow distracted, worried, and tired.
- Pray for the Christmas Concerts this weekend: that God would receive the glory for everything, that He would move powerfully through the music, and that many would be blessed. Pray as well for all those participating (Choirs, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Mr. Hanson--Music Director). With all the activities, it's easy for them to become exhausted--pray that God would bring them joy and energy as they share their music.
- Pray for the basketball teams as they play on Saturday against Faith Baptist College at Heritage Christian Academy.
