Outreach
Outreach is a key part of the student experience at AFLBS. Choir, Gospel Teams, Summer Teams, and Christian Service provide an excellent opportunity for students to exercise their gifts, minister to others, and learn to serve Christ.
The Concert Choir tours for two weeks each spring. Their travels have taken them to all four corners of the US, Eastern Europe, and Norway. The focus of the Concert Choir is to take the message of the gospel through song and testimony to congregations.
The Proclaim Choir tours Midwestern states for two weekends per year, proclaiming the gospel through music and testimonies.
Each year, students also form Gospel Teams. These eight teams minister through worship leading, music, drama and puppets, nursing home ministry, and street evangelism.
During the summer, you’ll find anywhere from 30 to 40 AFLBS students scattered in teams across the US. These Summer Ministry Teams focus on teaching children in Vacation Bible School, counseling youth at Bible camps, and performing music concerts for spiritual encouragement and spreading the gospel message.
Students also find countless Christian Service opportunities during their time at Bible school. Some teach Sunday school in a local church, others lead youth groups on Wednesday nights, and many serve in children’s ministry throughout the year. Several students have volunteered at crisis pregnancy centers, counseled at youth lock-ins or weekend retreats, and partnered with inner-city homeless ministries.
