Welcome to the 2017 AFLBS Scholarship Contest

Win a scholarship by submitting a video or essay response to the contest question.

How it works:

Students either make a short video or a written essay based on the following question:
How will a Bible school education benefit your life?

Video Instructions

  1. Create a stunning video
  2. Upload video to YouTube with privacy set to public
  3. Submit the YouTube link using our online form
  4. Open our return email with the link to the official contest entries page
  5. Share your link to boost views

Written Essay Instructions

  1. Write a creative essay
  2. Save in PDF or DOC format
  3. Submit the document file using our online form
  4. Open our return email with the link to the official contest entries page
  5. Share your link to boost online popularity

Criteria to win:

Videos
  • Most online votes and interaction on social media.
  • How well the question is answered.
  • Quality and creativity.
  • Appropriateness of the content.
Written essays
  • Most online votes and interaction on social media.
  • How well the question is answered.
  • Creativity in writing.
  • Grammar and punctuation.

The scholarship contest committee then votes on the best videos and/or the best written essays and selects three winners. Winners will be announced by May 1, 2017.

Deadlines:

Contest Opens: March 20 (entries may be submitted on this day)
Contest Ends: April 15 (no entries may be submitted after this day)

Prizes:

First Place – $1,500 Scholarship
Runner-up – $1000 Scholarship
Second Runner-up – $500 Scholarship

First 20 qualifying and unique participants automatically receive $100 Participation Scholarship for entering the contest (excludes first top 3 winners).

Qualifications:

  • Written Essays should be 400-500 words and videos should be 2-4 minutes long.
  • The scholarships will be applied to one student per entry.
  • Participants must be future students who intend to enroll as first year students for Fall 2017.
  • Participants must submit their completed application to AFLBS by the contest deadline, April 15.
  • Scholarship awards must be used for the coming academic year.
  • Scholarship awards will be added to the student account in the fall.
  • Scholarship awards may only be used at AFLBS. If a student decides not to come to AFLBS, an alternate winner will be chosen.

Content sharing agreement:

By entering the competition you grant AFLBS permission to use your content; the video/essays become the property of AFLBS and the AFLC Schools and may be used at the discretion of the schools in other promotional material.
