Summer Institute of Theology
The Summer Institute of Theology (SIT) provides an opportunity for continuing education for pastors, as well as for laymen and women. It is conducted each summer in early August. A full range of abbreviated courses in Old and New Testament, Theology, Church History, and Practical Studies is offered, taught by AFLC Schools faculty members and guest instructors.
Housing for SIT is available on campus in the AFLBS dormitories. Meals are also available in the school cafeteria.
SIT classes are designed specifically to provide ongoing education for pastors and laymen and laywomen. SIT coursework cannot be transferred into either the G.Th. or the M.Div. tracks of the Seminary program. The Coordinating Committee of the AFLC has established requirements for licensed lay-pastors in the AFLC regarding participation in the Summer Institute of Theology and may chose to offer certificates of completion to lay pastors. The seminary does not offer any certificate or diploma for the work done in the Summer Institute of Theology.
